Officials in Bridgeport say the COVID-19 pandemic is dragging out an already long waiting period for housing applications.

Seniors and people with disabilities told News 12 that the slowdown has been frustrating.

“I put applications in and I'm just praying that somebody will call me and help me,” says Kathleen Hammill, 55. “I'm just asking to get me a roof over my head and some belongings and to take me off the streets.”
