More than 200 firefighters responded to the scene of a five-alarm fire in Hunts Point overnight.
Fire officials say the fire was contained to the Food Dynasty supermarket on Hunts Point Avenue. Officials believe the fire started in the building's ceiling just after midnight.
The supermarket is situated among apartment buildings, two of which were evacuated. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Residents were allowed to return to their buildings, but at least one family says they will not be returning because of water damage and shattered glass.
According to fire officials, one child was treated by EMS for smoke inhalation, and five firefighters also suffered minor injuries.
