Crews have responded to a partial building collapse in Bridgeport.

It happened Thursday around 8 p.m. near the intersection of Golden Hill and Middle streets.

Fire crews have urged people to stay away from the area as a precaution, but there is no threat of a total collapse.

According to officials, the heavy snow on the vacant building's roof caused it to give way.

A post office across the street will be open, but customers will have to enter through a side door.
