Crews continued cleanup efforts in Monroe Friday after over a foot of snow fell on the community.
Plows and salt trucks made their rounds across the neighborhood to prevent icy conditions.
The town had a number of crews on the clock overnight in case of any emergency, but First Selectman Ken Kellogg said there were just minor outages and very few accidents.
"We were in constant contact with Eversource," Kellogg said. "We had one resident at one point that had an issue with heat but that was quickly resolved."
Kellogg says the town is well-equipped to handle snowstorms.
"In my experience here, Monroe seems to catch the higher end of the accumulation," said Chris Nowacki, the town's director of public works. "These guys know how to take care of business."
