The Darien Train Station is undergoing a major transformation — and today, state officials got a firsthand look at the progress.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation hosted a tour Monday to highlight the ongoing redevelopment project aimed at improving safety, accessibility, and comfort for commuters.

Kevin LaRose, Assistant Division Engineer, spoke to News 12 Connecticut about the changes which included fully operational elevators, snow melting systems and enhanced led lighting around the public information displays and canopy.

As one of the state’s major travel hubs, the Darien Station is among several being upgraded as part of the DOT’s broader effort to modernize Connecticut’s rail network and enhance the overall passenger experience.
