A new documentary about 2006?s U.S. Senate campaign in Connecticut premiered at the Connecticut Film Festival Saturday.

?Honk for Peace,? a film by Ridgefield filmmaker Corey Boutilier, followed the activity and campaign trail of the Lieberman-Lamont-Schlesinger race.

Boutilier says he became intrigued by some of the anti-war protests in 2003 and decided to pick up his camera. He didn?t realize years later he?d be picking it up again and going back to his southwestern Connecticut roots.

Boutilier says the reason he was able to get access to the candidates was because none of the footage was going to air before the election. The film is full of behind-the-scenes moments.

Boutillier says he's learned a lot about the state's Democratic and Republican parties, but he says he'll always remain independent. He says his next documentary will tell the tale of farming in India.
