Professor Gayle Alberda from Fairfield University and Professor Gary Rose from Sacred Heart University spoke with News 12 about the issues and policies of the new President Donald Trump administration.
The economy is an issue President Trump says he wants to fix.
"Expectations for the economy and to get better under him are at an all-time high if you look at the polling data," said Alberda.
His proposed tariffs could mean higher prices. Experts say he may use them to get what he wants from other countries.
Trump's stance on immigration has been tough.
"I think we're going to see some of the sanctuary cities like New Haven and Hartford targeted by the Trump administration and the number of people probably deported…I think it's going to be very real and it's going to be very quick as well," said Rose.
Experts say the president's stance on foreign policy will be important as it pertains to Russia and Ukraine.
"I think the NATO countries are going to feel a lot of pressure from the incoming president in terms of making their contributions to defense budgets and defending Western Europe," said Rose.
