A state report has concluded that Stamford police were legally justified in using deadly force during a 2025 standoff that ended with officers opening fire.

Connecticut's Office of the Inspector General says officers acted lawfully during the confrontation with Jed Parkington at a home on Oaklawn Avenue.

The shooting followed an hours-long standoff as police attempted to carry out an eviction related to a foreclosure.

Authorities say officers opened fire during the incident.

After the standoff ended, investigators discovered the body of former tenant Carmine Boccuzzi, 79, inside the home.

The Inspector General's report concluded that the officers' use of deadly force was legally justified.
