Gov. Ned Lamont announced Monday that $2.6 million in state funding is being released for 211.
The governor says that money will help increase call capacity for the free helpline – operated by United Way of Connecticut.
Gov. Lamont also announced the release of $6.8 million dollars in state funding to support continued services for homelessness prevention and response.
211 connects residents to essential services like food assistance, housing, childcare, mental health and more.
"We're doing what we can. We got your back. We're trying to do our best to keep you covered,” said Lamont. “211 is right here, give them a call. They're the lifeline that you need in these stormy times. Thanks, everybody."
