The state Senate unanimously approved a ban on age-related questions on employment applications Wednesday.
The vote was 32-0, with four members not voting.
The bill bars employers from asking for birth and graduate dates on job applications.
It contains provisions for when a date of birth question is required by federal law.
The bill goes onto the state House of Representatives.
