After months of offering free rides around the state, CT Transit informed its riders that fares are set to be collected again beginning next month.

The agency says front door boarding and money collection will resume Oct. 5.

Greater Bridgeport Transit announced the same timeline for its customers last week.

Norwalk Transit says it's still working on retrofitting its busses with the safety equipment, but hopes to begin regular boarding and fare collection by Nov. 1.
