The father of a teenage boy accused of murdering one of his childhood friends in Norwalk is begging for police to help stop local gang wars.

Amos Brown Jr., 16, turned himself in to police Monday in the stabbing death of Tykwan Hunt. Hunt?s body was found in a McDonald?s parking lot hours after a fight at a nearby house party last month.

Brown?s father, Amos Brown Sr., says his son is innocent. He also says his son has been a gang target for years. Brown Sr. adds that his family?s Orchard Street home was fired on last month. Brown Sr. claims police admitted that the shooting was in retaliation for Hunt?s death.

Brown Sr. is now asking police to help stop the violence. He says he is not scared for himself, but rather for the future of his son and other teens.

Brown Jr. is due in a Stamford courtroom on March 16.
