The Darien Library now has access to what local officials are touting as the nation's first self-publishing book machine. Called the Espresso Book Publisher, the machine prints books from computer files. It requires 40 pages for binding and can create an unlimited number of copies. Users also have the option of a generic or customized cover. "They can see how easy it is," says self-publishing consultant Lisa Grant. "It's not so daunting."
