Darien police swear in new police chief

The Darien new police chief said he promises transparency to the community.

Darien police swore in their new chief of police with a ceremony on Friday.
The police commission appointment Jeremiah P. Marron Jr. as the department’s 12th chief of police.
"To the Darien community, I promise an accountable, professional and accessible police department that is responsive to your concerns, transparency will continue to be the corner stone of our approach," said Marron.
Chief Marron assumed command of the department as chief of police on April 1, following the retirement of the current chief, Donald B. Anderson.
Chief Marron has been in the Darien Police Department for 28 years.
