A Darien woman risked losing her job in the current recession to better herself emotionally and physically.
Career consultants and therapists say many southwestern Connecticut residents feel trapped in their jobs but fear losing income in the slumping economy. One woman wasn't sure she could mentally or physically tolerate her job for another day and sought a therapist who she says saved her life.
Maud Purcell, of The Life Solutions Center of Darien, says the woman came from an abusive workplace. The woman eventually quit her job and utilized Purcell's services. Therapists say people who are miserable at work must do their own personal analysis to navigate a "major life transition".
