A Darien facility is honoring the teen who was killed in a tubing accident off Greenwich Point Wednesday.

Emily Fedorko, 16, was an avid gymnast at the Darien YMCA. Coach John Schwartz says Fedorko practiced under him for nearly four years and was part of the family at the Y.

Those who knew Fedorko say they are having a hard time coming to terms with the fact that she will never walk through the doors of the facility again.

Police say Fedorko and a friend fell off a tube in the waters off Greenwich Point, and they were hit by the propeller when the boat circled around to pick them up. The other girl on the tube was seriously hurt. Two other friends were in the boat at the time.

News 12 is told a funeral will be held for Fedorko at Saint Clement Church in Stamford. Many of her gymnastics teammates say they plan to attend together.
