According to the CT Mirror, Judge Dawne Westbrook was unanimously confirmed by the judiciary committee Friday. Westbook still faces a final vote in the General Assembly in February.

A Black woman has been confirmed to Connecticut's appellate court.
According to the CT Mirror, Judge Dawne Westbrook was unanimously confirmed by the judiciary committee Friday.
Prior to her nomination earlier this month, Westbrook served on the Superior Court and was the chief administrative Judge for Juvenile Matters.
She succeeds Eliot D. Prescott on the nine-member court.
Westbook still faces a final vote in the General Assembly in February.
