Drivers in Redding are expected to face delays starting this week.
The state Department of Transportation says construction on a bridge on Route 53 will start Wednesday.
Officials say delays are expected throughout the week from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
The project is scheduled to wrap up in early September.
