Lamont unveiled his spending plan in February. It held the line on most taxes, but critics say it's too lean and conservative.
Top Democrats unveiled their own budget, which sends more money to schools, towns and nonprofits hit hard by the pandemic.
Lamont says schools do get more funding under his budget, but most of that is one-time relief money from Washington, D.C.
