A 13-year-old and the child's father were both bitten by a coyote in Watertown.
Department of Energy and Environmental Protection officials said it wasn't severe but that the problem was they were hand-feeding the coyote, which officials don't recommend.
Westport police are warning residents after a person went outside with their dog back in May and a coyote was standing near the wood line.
The coyote approached and then lunged at the dog, but the person was able to run back inside with the dog before the coyote attacked the pet.
DEEP officials said we are seeing more coyotes this time of year, so it's a good idea to keep your pets inside or at least have a leash on your dog.
"This time of year, we tend to see more coyote sightings. It's the result of the pups leaving the den, so we generally see more this time of year. So I'm not concerned by the increase that we've seen recently," said Geoff Krukar with the Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection.
DEEP said it's not uncommon to see a coyote in your yard. If you feel threatened, DEEP suggests making noise - such as banging pots or yelling - to scare the animal away.
