The self described career criminal known as the "Dinnertime Bandit" was sentenced Friday in Stamford Superior Court to 15 years behind bars and 10 years special probation for burglary.
Alan Golder, 53, is a convicted burglar who was given the name "Dinnertime Bandit" after a series of burglaries in 1996 and 1997 of several wealthy Greenwich-area homes. Prosecutors say he scaled mansion walls, slipped through second-floor windows during dinnertime and stole precious jewels and property valued at $1 million.
Golder was a longtime fugitive before Belgian authorities captured him in December 2006 and he was sent back to Connecticut to stand trial.
Golder says he had nothing to do with the burglaries. His attorney says he will appeal the decision.
