Connecticut residents will eventually be automatically registered to vote when they visit the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).
The Secretary of the State's office says it has reached a new deal with the DMV to bring automatic registration to the state by August 2018.
The idea is when eligible citizens apply for a license or ID, they're also signed up to vote.
Officials say they're still working out the details.
