Authorities in Bridgeport have charged a man with strangling a woman to death more than three decades ago. Leonard Jackson, 53, is accused of strangling Stella Brantley, 30, at Seaside Park in October 1980. Investigators say they worked with the FBI and used DNA evidence to track down the suspect. Officials say Jackson has a long criminal history, and was already in prison on separate charges when he was linked to Brantley's murder. The victim's family members say they are grateful to police and are looking forward to a resolution. The judge set bond at $1 million.
