(AP) - Sen. Christopher Dodd has returned to Connecticut for the first time since Congress and President Bush approved the $700 billion bailout package for the financial industry.
Dodd, the chairman of the Senate Banking Committee, is meetingMonday morning in Windsor Locks with Chamber of Commerceofficials and banking, labor and housing organizations from acrossthe state to discuss the bailout.
Dozens of people across the country told The Associated Pressover the weekend that they have concerns about the bailout. Manysaid they wondered whether the rescue would help Wall Street atall, and they were very concerned about their own finances.
Dodd said last week that the bailout package, although it may beunpopular, will benefit all Americans by helping to stabilize themarkets.
