A Danbury woman who recently helped displaced fire victims wants to spread the generosity to southwestern Connecticut.
After receiving coats, shoes, blankets, sweaters and bathroom products in mass quantities, Maxine Nery says it?s time to help more people in need. All of the donations came from strangers from as far away as New York City.
?I need to give all this stuff away,? says Nery. ?It wouldn?t mean anything if I can?t help the people out there that need it.?
What started as a donation for a family in Danbury whose house was destroyed has quickly extended to those affected by recent fires in Bridgeport and Stamford. Westy Storage in Danbury not only donated a truck, but two storage units to shelter the mass amount of received goods.
Anyone who knows someone who has been displaced because of a fire, is urged to call Nery at 203-451-6571.
