A Department of Transportation worker was killed yesterday in an accident on Route 8 in Naugatuck.
The DOT says 41-year-old Daniel Dinardi, of Rocky Hill, parked on the shoulder of Route 8 and got out of his car to remove something from the road when he was hit by a tractor-trailer.
Officials say Dinardi worked for the DOT for 21 years and was well known throughout the department.
