Dozens of people attended an anti-violence rally in Bridgeport tonight to protest the death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, the unarmed Florida teen who was gunned down by a neighborhood watch volunteer last month.
The alleged shooter, 28-year-old George Zimmerman, has not been arrested and claims he acted in self-defense.
The rally was held at Housatonic Community College.
Organizers say the rally was to make people aware of violence around the nation, and to emphasize the fact that violence occurs everywhere, not just in Florida.
