Torrential rainfall may have caused a crash on the Merritt Parkway in Westport Saturday morning, according to firefighters.
They say the car went down an embankment in the northbound lanes and hit a tree on the driver's side.
The extent of the driver's injuries is unknown at this time.
Westport firefighters are reminding residents to take extreme caution when driving in inclement weather.
