A section of Jerome Avenue in Kingsbridge has reopened to traffic after a fatal single-car crash.
According to police, the accident happened at around 2:30 a.m., leaving a Lexus in mangled chunks and debris scattered all over the pavement.
Investigators say the driver smashed into an elevated subway pillar, cutting the vehicle in half. It's unclear how fast the car was going at the time, but investigators believe the car was traveling at a high rate of speed when it collided into the pillar.
