A skating rink in DUMBO has dozens singing and reminiscing on a musical that showed the world what could happen when people from two different backgrounds fall in love.
The ice skating rink has been packed since it opened their doors back in November but Saturday evening was a bit special. People of all ages grabbed their skates and glided around, singing and dancing as best as they could to the "Moulin Rouge" Broadway musical soundtrack.
This was the ice skating rink's first Broadway theme skate night.
Organizers said they wanted to incorporate more Broadway nights to give New Yorkers a different skating experience. There was even a raffle so people could win two free tickets to the musical that's happening right now on Broadway.
For this winter season, Glide at Brooklyn Bridge Park has hosted many theme skating sessions but organizers said "Moulin Rouge" night added magic and different elements that brought a piece of Broadway to Brooklyn.
Glide will be open until March 1.
