A Norwalk company has designed a way to for people to enjoy disposable products without harming the environment.
Yumi Eco Solutions designs and sells items traditionally made out of plastic like kitchen utensils, flatware and stemware. The company uses biodegradable and compostable materials, however.
"If the mainstream doesn't adopt these, then we're not going to have much of an environmental impact. We don't really achieve our mission," Yumi Eco Solutions Founder Virginia Pan said.
The company was established five years ago and plans to expand into items like toys and auto parts.
