Elderly and disabled residents living at 1459 Wythe Place in Highbridge have been dealing with constant elevator outages along with other concerns.
Souraya Isecury has been a resident at the building for 18 years, and she says these issues are getting to be too much to handle.
"Ugh! This elevator has been an ongoing issue for years," says Isecury.
Now dealing with respiratory problems, Isecury says it's very difficult to get in and out of the building.
"I have to go up so slow up the flights and stop at every flight. The neighbors can tell you I huff and puff," Isecury explains.
Down the hall is Martha and her disabled son who are basically home-bound.
"My son really doesn't want to go down at all because if his heart rate reaches a certain level he can have a stroke," says Martha.
Management put out a notice in August saying that the elevators should be fixed by Thanksgiving.
News 12 reached out to management but has not heard back yet.
