A 72-year-old woman is fighting for her life following a tragic accident at the intersection of Main Street and Capitol Avenue in Bridgeport.
Bridgeport police reported that the incident occurred Thursday morning when a Toyota Rav 4, attempting to make a turn, collided with the pedestrian who was legally crossing in the crosswalk.
The impact was severe enough that another vehicle subsequently crashed into the rear of the Toyota Rav 4, complicating the scene further.
The elderly victim was rushed to the hospital where she remains in critical condition with serious injuries.
