Crustless and bakeless apple pie recipe:
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon butter or olive oil
4 apples of your choice, peeled, cored and sliced (something firm that won’t turn to mush like a Granny Smith)
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom (optional)
2 tablespoon brown sugar or maple syrup
Pinch of salt
Juice from one orange, about 1/2 cup
Vanilla ice cream, optional
Instructions:
In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter (or oil) then add apples. Cook for 4-5 minutes, stirring gently.
Add spices, brown sugar (or maple syrup), orange juice, and pinch of salt. Stir to evenly coat all the apples.
Cook another 5 minutes until the apples are soft and caramelized. Divide among 4 bowls and serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
*Also can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 4 days and reheated, or used as a topping for yogurt or oatmeal.
