Senator Richard Blumenthal says the National Weather Service's contains less reliable data going into this major winter storm due to the funding cuts to the services parent agency, NOAA.
Blumenthal says more than 800 workers, ranging from weather forecasters, engineers and scientists have been fired.
According to the Senator the cut in workers has caused a decline in the agencies ability to provide the most reliable and accurate weather forecasts possible.
The Trump administration has repeatedly said forecasting is not impacted by the personnel and spending cuts.
