The vaccine coordinator for the Connecticut Immunization Program is urging residents to get the flu shot to avoid a “twin-demic.”
"We don't want…people in the hospital for flu and, at the same time, having people in the hospital with COVID,” says Mick Bolduc.
Bolduc, an epidemiologist, says most adults 18-64 don't do a good job of getting an annual flu shot. The flu kills thousands in America each year, he says.
Bolduc says it's still too early to tell just how effective this year's flu shot is, but he says it can't hurt until the public can get a COVID-19 vaccine.
