The estranged husband of the missing New Canaan mother has retained a controversial defense lawyer.
Fotis Dulos, the estranged husband of Jennifer Dulos, has retained Norm Pattis as his attorney. According to Elite Lawyer Management, Pattis currently represents Alex Jones and Infowars in civil suits filed against them by survivors of the Sandy Hook shootings.
News 12 has reported that Fotis Dulos and Michelle Troconis, his girlfriend, have been charged with evidence tampering and hindering prosecution in connection to the case. Police in New Canaan say they have received 300 tips and 70 responses to a request for surveillance video in connection to the missing woman.
Investigators are out again Monday searching a trash facility in Hartford for signs of Dulos, who disappeared two weeks ago.
Police found evidence of a crime scene in Jennifer Dulos’ New Canaan home and items with her blood on them in trash cans in Hartford. Security cameras captured Troconis and Fotis Dulos throwing out what appeared to be that evidence.
Elite Lawyer management, which represents Pattis, released a statement saying, “Kevin Smith and I have read the arrest warrant and supporting information and look forward to learning more about this unusual case.”
“I caution the world at large that things are rarely as they appear early on in a sensationalized investigation like this one,” the statement continues. “The rush to judgement stops now as does the conviction by innuendo. If necessary, we'll let a jury decide what happened here."
Pattis will first appear for Fotis Dulos in court on Tuesday for a preliminary hearing.
Meanwhile, officials announced Monday they have created a website and email address the public can use to help locate missing New Canaan mother Jennifer Dulos.
