Eversource customers will be paying higher electric bills starting in January.
The average customer will pay 7.5% more starting Jan. 1. This covers the supply portion of the bill, which is what Eversource pays for electricity on the open market.
The increase is expected to last six months.
Customers are paying 24% less than last winter.
