Eversource says it is ready to respond to the Christmas storm.
Officials say crews and equipment are pre-positioned to quickly respond to any outages or damage.
The utility will have extra customer care representatives to handle calls and cancel vacations. Outside line crews were also called in.
Eversource Spokeswoman Tricia Modifica says she wants customers to know they're doing everything they can to prepare, including watching the forecast closely and adjusting their plans if necessary.
“We're also very mindful that this is the Christmas holiday and obviously not an ideal time to lose power, that's why we're making sure we have everything in position and as many possible resources on hand as we can. Our team is also, you know, sacrificing their holiday do make sure that they can do everything they can to assist restoration as fast as possible,” Modifica says.
Eversource recommends customers to prepare for the storm in case they lose power. The facility encourages customers to charge their phones and have water and non-perishable items available.
