Jurors reached a guilty verdict late Friday in the fraud trial of former Bridgeport state Sen. Ernie Newton.
Newton's attorney told News 12 Connecticut that his client was found guilty of three of the eight charges lodged against him.
Officials say jurors found him guilty of campaign fraud, but cleared him on one count of witness tampering. They say jurors could not reach a verdict on the four remaining charges.
Newton will be sentenced on March 13.
He has previously spent time in prison on corruption charges.
