Police say they have charged a former Stamford High School basketball player with leading a mob-style attack on two teenagers at a high school basketball game.

They say the vicious attack happened in the high school's parking lot and involved as many as 15-20 assailants. It occurred right after Friday's basketball game against Norwalk's Brien McMahon High School. The two schools have a rivalry that has caused issues in the past, and police had extra security on hand at Friday's game.

Malik Clayborne, 19, has been charged with second-degree assault in connection with the incident. Police say he dropped out of school that morning.

Both victims have since been released from the hospital. One suffered stab wounds to the chest; the other may need dental surgery.
