Fairfield Police have released body cam video of a fight breaking out at Jennings Beach.
On Thursday night, police arrived at the beach to find hundreds of teens underage drinking and getting rowdy.
Then, a fight broke out.
First Selectwoman Brenda Kupchick tells News 12 Connecticut she had been getting a lot of complaints over the last few weeks from people who live near the beach.
"I asked the police to step up their enforcement and they started to go down there, and they were actually amazed about how many teenagers were down there," said Kupchick.
Kupchick says social media posts sparked these gatherings.
She says drinking is not allowed at town beaches.
"I don't think anybody in our community wants our young people engaging in activity that they're not supposed to be engaging in and we don't want disruptive behavior or disorderly conduct in any of our parks," said Kupchick.
The town says they also found a ton of trash all over Jennings and Penfield beaches and they're worried about it getting into the Sound.
"Red Solo cups, pizza boxes, liquor bottles all thrown on the beach," said Kupchick.
"I mean Fairfield is a great place, why destroy it," said Fairfield beachgoer Al Wilson.
Wilson and his friend said Monday at nearby Penfield Beach that they have also been seeing disruptive behavior.
"I came down here one day and there was three or four of these tables piled up on top of each other and they had walked up onto the roof and were just running around doing whatever they were doing. That's not necessary," said Wilson.
Police say most of the teens are coming from some of the northern suburbs.
Police say they issued tickets for underage drinking and parking illegally.
