"I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream."
With a heat wave expected to hit Connecticut this week, a Norwalk ice cream shop is gearing up for an influx of customers.
"It's going to be hot," said Noah Carrillo, supervisor at Mr. Frosty's. "It's the heat that brings everybody here."
Ice cream shops are already busy during the summer months, but Mr. Frosty's says it's expecting to see double the amount of customers this week and this weekend with temperatures set to hit 100 degrees.
To prepare, Carrillo says the business has ordered double the amount of ice cream it usually gets, plus the shop is bringing in extra staff to handle the added rush.
"It gets a little crazy in there, but we manage," Carrillo says. "We're going to need the manpower because we're expecting a whole lot of people to come this week."
Meantime, customers are already planning to be back once the heat really hits.
"It's going to be hot!" Amadeus Garcia, of Norwalk, says. "People are going to be sweating, people are probably going to be dehydrated."
"It's going to be in the 100s all week pretty much," Josephine Mendoza, of Norwalk, says. "Eat lots of fruits and watermelon for sure just for hydration."
"Wear sunscreen... I know everybody's going to be outside, but we gotta stay protected," Carrillo says. "Come get ice cream at Mr. Frosty's. We'll be ready for you."
