Fairfield's beaches and lakes will open Friday, but officials say there are new guidelines for visiting the open spaces.
Officials say only Fairfield residents will be able to use the beaches for "passive" recreation only.
Passive recreation includes activities like walking or running on the beach.
No beach chairs, blankets, coolers, bonfires or any type of group gatherings will be allowed, and all pavilions are off limits.
Town officials say parking will be available at Jennings, Sasco and Southport beaches only from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The Penfield Beach parking lot will remain closed, but residents can still walk or run on the beach.
Town officials say residents are still required to purchase a 2020 beach sticker from the Parks and Recreations Department to access the beaches.
Residents are permitted to park at the South Benson Marina, but only if they have a slip, or a 'M' style beach sticker, officials say.
The same rules apply to the Ye Yacht Club.

Those looking to head out to Lake Mohegan can only park in the main parking lot from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The Cascades parking lot will remain closed, and there are no chairs, coolers or group gatherings allowed.
Dogs must remain on a leash at Lake Mohegan, and those visiting must be a Fairfield resident.
Although spaces are starting to open, officials are maintaining that social distancing be practiced.
The Par 3 golf course will open with stipulations. Smith Richardson will remain closed due to construction.
