Fairfield business owners concerned about GE move

In response to General Electric announcing that it will be moving from Fairfield to Boston, some local business owners say they are worried about how the company's move will affect the town's economy.

In response to General Electric announcing that it will be moving from Fairfield to Boston, some local business owners say they are worried about how the company's move will affect the town's economy.
Rawley's Drive-In is one of Fairfield's oldest establishments, having opened in 1947 - well before GE set up shop in the '70s. Owner Nick Frattaroli says the eatery has definitely seen a boost in business since GE came to Fairfield.
He says he knows GE has been the town's largest taxpayer and he's worried about how Fairfield will make up the lost revenue.
Some business owners say they've heard that Sacred Heart University might be taking over GE's campus. Gov. Dannel Malloy says GE told him that other companies have shown interest in the property.
