Fairfield's Department of Public Works were busy Monday preparing for the season's first sizeable winter snowstorm.
Interim Public Works Director John Marsilio says each truck will be loaded up with salt. Crews were set to come back ahead of snowfall.
Marsilio says the roads will first be salted and then plowed.
"The roads, we're lucky, are not frozen, so it's my expectation that the snow initially will melt pretty easily," Marsilio says.
There are 27 routes throughout town, and it takes crews around six hours to complete their routes.
Snow is expected to begin moving into Connecticut around 7 p.m. and fall overnight into Tuesday morning.
Snow accumulations could hit up to 9 inches in some towns.
