The Fairfield Ludlowe High School cheerleading team took home the top prize at the AmeriCheer International Championship in Orlando last weekend.
The win marked the first time that the cheer program and the school took first place in an international competition.
The team was number one in their division and overall.
Seniors on the team say it was a perfect way to end their final season as Falcons.
"We had to keep pushing and at times it got hard, thinking like you hit rock bottom and keep going," says Kimberly Barnett. "And so to go and come out with this title, it was a really awesome experience."
The 23 girls on the team received an email on the flight back that Fairfield police would escort the team to school their first day back.
The girls have a month off before they begin practice for next season.
