The Fairfield National Little League team begins play Wednesday night at the Little League World Series in Pennsylvania.
Fairfield National played many of their games this season at Tunxis Hill Park. This group of 12 year olds has been together for three years and their hard work is paying off.
On Friday night Fairfield National beat New York to punch their ticket to Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Fairfield plays Texas Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
This team has created an excitement in town that is bringing the community together. News 12 Connecticut caught up with acting First Selectman Christine Vitale who is on vacation, but still took the time to talk about these amazing kids.
"Cheering each other and having a pizza party to celebrate more time for us adults that are just caught up in so many other things that are not as much fun. Just heading to the World Series in the community. You wanna be there you wanna be there for our kids," said Vitale.
If you can't get to Pennsylvania, there is a watch party at Elicit Brewing on Black Rock Turnpike in Fairfield Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
The boys have been in PA since the weekend and walked in the opening ceremonies parade Tuesday.
