Fairfield police hosted a drill Tuesday with a mission to rescue passengers trapped from an airplane crash in the Housatonic River.
Authorities from departments throughout southwestern Connecticut converged for drill exercises inside and around the river, behind 418 River Road in Shelton.
Divers from the Bridgeport Police Department jumped out of a helicopter as it hovered over the water, while Milford, Fairfield and Shelton police departments gathered on boats for the drill.
Fairfield police say it took them more than three months to coordinate this operation, and say it?s worth it.
