Fairfield police are telling residents about a new program that will make it easier for people to file reports with the department.
Officials say people can now fill out reports for non-emergencies by accessing the department's website.
Fairfield Police Department Chief Gary MacNamara says the online report doesn't take the place of a police officer.
"It's providing some convenience to get that information to us. We will review the information, and if we believe it's part of a larger pattern in town or there's need to follow up, the department will follow up," says MacNamara.
